How to set a New Year Resolution to make you happy!

Did you decide to work out and you think the resolution will make you happy? It depends! Yes, you should workout but be careful with the intensity. Too little might not be enough and too much is not good either. So what is the right solution?

Resolving to work out more and eat healthier have to be decisions that go together and as far as happiness is your goal - exercise releases all sorts of feel good neurotransmitters to our brains, and our eating habits also plays a big role in our mental health. But we often approach diet and movement following a complicated process and this can be stressing. Instead, the suggestion is to keep it simple.

On the food tip, avoid strict diets and simply eat closer to nature—more fruits and vegetables, less processed foods.

Also do not forget that mind and body are inseparable, so the importance of controlling your negative emotions—like, if you have a crazy week at work and eat boxed mac and cheese for three nights in a row.  We often think about working out and forget about our emotions.

The key for happiness is simpler than what we think. We have to practice the things we do that feel especially meaningful, or even spiritual, and make them part of our routine. It could be talking to our parents, charity work or simply being kind to others. No matter how busy we are, we can find one hour a week to spare - so do what makes sense to you and watch what happens!
